Prozac is one of the world's most
widely prescribed antidepressants; it has been
prescribed for more than 54 million people
worldwide. Many scientists believe that an imbalance
in serotonin, a neurotransmitter, may be an
important factor in the development and severity of
depression. Serotonin is a chemical messenger that
helps control our sleep patterns, our appetite
cravings, and the way we feel emotionally. Studies
show that increasing the availability of serotonin
can greatly reduce symptoms of depression. Prozac
may help to correct this imbalance by increasing the
brain's own supply of serotonin. The general
recommendation is to take Prozac in the morning.
Prozac can be taken with or without food. If you
miss a dose, don't take a double dose. Just continue
with your next scheduled dose.
Zoloft is safe and effective for
the treatment of depression and anxiety. Zoloft is

premenstrual dysphoric disorder in adults over age

disorder in children and adolescents age 6-17 years.
Zoloft helps the nerve cells send messages to each
other the way they normally should.
